Need of the Hour - Deep Prospecting

Overall experience was good. I would say it kind of reduced 80% of our prospecting time.

Pros

The Funding information and the decision-makers information were the more I liked about this product.

The other thing is that the growth of the organization and year of incorporation were also made our prospecting simple matching our ICP criteria.

Cons

The phone numbers and email addresses can be made better and can be integrated in a better way so that we can get it all in one shot

Alternatives Considered

DiscoverOrg and ZoomInfo Sales

Reasons for Switching to Crunchbase

The information it gave was more we were looking for than the pricing.

Terrible Software - DO NOT USE

Extremely bad. Would never recommend to anybody to use.

Pros

Nothing. The only positive is that it is cheaper than the alternatives - AND FOR A GOOD REASON!

Cons

1. They offered a free trial and then charged my card without permission2. I contact support for hours, I got an instant response, then when they see its about a refund they stop replying everytime.3. Overall, the platform has extremely bad filters and data. Would never recommend to anyoneTHEY ARE SCAMMERS!! DONT USE

A great resource for startup competition research

It's still the best option for what I need, highly recommend!

Pros

Crunchbase allows me to quickly understand the structure, financing, and key team members at competing technology startups. It allows you to save companies to a list for easy reference in future.

Cons

Crunchbase operates on a freemium pricing model, but as soon as you want to upgrade from free to paid, the price jump is fairly substantial. It would be better if you could pay monthly instead of anually, and if there was a lower starting tier for early stage startups

Alternatives Considered

PitchBook

Reasons for Switching to Crunchbase

Crunchbase had transparent pricing with better self-service without the need to schedule sales calls or demos.

Crunchbase is the best in class tool for prospecting companies based on investment data

An exceptional tool for prospecting VCs and identifying M&A opportunities quickly and easily.

Pros

The data on VCs in Crunchbase is unparalleled and incredibly helpful whilst we were identifying targets for series round funding. The ability to construct rich lists of VCs with specifications like AUM saved countless hours looking manually online. Crunchbase is also exceptionally important for identifying M&A opportunities globally.

Cons

Crunchbase is quite expensive and doesn't need to be required daily which can make the SaaS hard to justify. I think there should be an opportunity to use Crunchbase pay as you go so you don't have to lose a subscription account each time.

Good Place to Find Leads

It has been great so far, I use it daily with my recruiting.

Pros

I like how each company profile is laid out and the specifics that it shares

Cons

I wish the search had more options, some search options are only available in a specific setting.

Critical Review by daily user: It's a cool product which has potential to become excellent.

Overall I am happy using this product, but like I mentioned they should not keep the flagged or incorrect information just to ensure there are some details for every company instead a stricter focus on ensuring the correctness of details is of paramount importance.

Pros

It happens to show results for almost every company I prospect for. Which is interesting as well as relieving from the pain of going to multiple sites to collect details for one company.

Cons

It also happens to be noted that there are considerable amount of errors in the details that is populated as a result likelihood of time getting wasted going behind wrong details is inevitable. I inform the team then and there to make it as much as error free from error prone.

Amazing prospecting and company research tool

Overall, it's been a great resource for finding companies and learning about their funding. Specifically, data on investors and investments made by investors. The option to export is beneficial.

Pros

Information about the company is presented in an easy-to-understand format. Especially in terms of funding and financial data. It also includes a list of decision-makers as well as a link to their LinkedIn profile, making it simple for us to contact them. Filter options are superb for narrowing down a market.

Cons

The most recent data is not always updated. Data must be updated on a regular basis, and the database must be updated (New companies)

One stop shop for marketeers

Pros

The application contains plethora of details and most of all, has a vast database to surf through and acquire information. Definitely serves as a go-to destination to source leads for predominantly most varieties of companies.

Cons

On certain accounts the data base is not having complete information. But still would have adequate information for most intents and purposes

You need it in your tool belt

Pros

Love the ease of use and the easy implementation.

Cons

I wish there was a HubSpot integration. I also do like the fact that you can only tag up to 1000 companies. There is also not a custom fields option.

Good for free, but premium needs work

Pros

Crunchbase is the seminal public startup database on the internet. It covers most startups to some extent, as a free search database it is unmatched.

Cons

The data can be patchy or just wrong for younger companys, the UI is cluttered and navigation is a mess sometimes. Feels like its stuck between free offering and paid tier. Pitchbook is simpler to use.
