Good but pricey product
This software helps me understand various sectors as a corporate development professional. While expensive, it has proved very useful for my team.
Pros
I like the ability to create reports for specific industries and save them. I also like that the software will suggest competitors automatically.
Cons
The price is quite steep compared to other similar platforms. Also the funding data sometimes seems to be out of date. Pitchbook works with insider contacts to get this data, so I'm wondering if their network of contacts has recently declined.

Pitchbook has so many good options!
Overall PitchBook is an awesome software to work with!
Pros
I would say for me the best part about PitchBook is definitely the Excel and PowerPoint plugins!!
Cons
The only thing that would need improving is better Customer Service. But that still wasn't really even worth complaining about!

Cons
The public market data is spotty at best

Excellent source for identifying rising stars and emerging sectors
one word: Excellent. that applies to content as well as customer service
Pros
Pitchbook is the perfect data source for identifying potential targets, especially startups and rising stars. it has over 3.3 million companies. It is also one of the best source for M&A deals and funding.
The database is very intuitive to use as it the layout is clean and easy to navigate. the screening criteria are very well thought through and therefore make it easy to narrow down search. it's also very easy to download the data into many formats including Excel and PDF.
In addition to company financials, the Market Analysis section is packed with vertical/sector news, trends as well as market sizing. they source their data from a variety of reputable sources. The focus on emerging topics and sectors is very good.
You can also set up alerts to follow your preferred list of companies and verticals.
Cons
It would be ideal if the market reports are also linked to a company search, so when I search for a company, I can also see which reports it was mentioned in

Easy to use for company research
Overall I recommend the product. We always teach our new employees how to use the program, as its used daily at our firm.
Pros
Love how user friendly the web platform is and that I can easily pull both public and private company information. I use it for daily market research!
Cons
I feel like the excel plug in can be difficult to work, especially with trying to find the correct formulas.

Great private markets data
Pros
Search is great, deal data is very thoughtfully arranged and makes reviewing company performance very intuitive.
Cons
Expensive. But if cost is less important than time and data completeness, it's a fantastic platform.

No privacy concern
Not happy at all. Have some decency and respect when someone does not want their information on your useless website.
Pros
I did not like anything about the software. 30,000+ for a year. Who would do that?
Cons
The most careless customer support. Will keep your private information hostage because they don't want to get rid of it.
