I Am Most Impressed With Shopify
I’m very happy with them and have convinced my friend to sign up. She is happy with it too
Pros
I love the ease of use and learning didn’t take too much time. I use it to cash out my customers and inventory management as well as website maintenance.
Cons
The price. The additional apps can be confusing. I wish they had better apps for social media posts. They did but the social companies pulled the apps as far as I know. I can’t afford paid ads all the time and the posts directly from my products across all socials were so helpful. Now I can only post in Facebook.
Reasons for Choosing Shopify POS
They had no way at the time of removing inventory from the website and my point of sale system.Reasons for Switching to Shopify POS
I was able to contact someone and ask questions at shopify. The others were also more expensive for hardware.- Industry: Maritime

Shopify POS Works Great with 3rd Party Apps
Overall, we are able to find work arounds for most issues and eventually we get things working. The convenience of the Shopify POS App is sometimes overshadowed by a need for 3rd party apps, and lots of time fiddling around. A major plus is that most issues that I encounter are issues for everyone else too, so I can usually find my answers in an archive somewhere. The bad news is that some issues have been around for years and are still not resolved. For instance, the month-end inventory snapshot sometimes takes up to 2 weeks into the new month to show the month prior.
Pros
I love the ability to integrate our online store with our brick & mortar location. Before Shopify, we had to put in every order twice to capture the online sale. Now it's simple to manage our products both online and in store.
Cons
It doesn't have the ability to do Weighted Average Cost (or any other costing method that isn't FIFO). Additionally, Shopify POS doesn't have any report to track adjustments made to inventory-- you must go into each individual item to view adjustment history per item. There's no way to track bulk adjustments made in the inventory screen. We use 3+ apps just to make Shopify POS work as a normal POS should.

LightspeedReasons for Choosing Shopify POS
Quickbooks POS informed us all that they would no longer be supporting their POS system and that sent everyone into a scramble. Shopify was presented as a partnered alternative with many incentives to make the switch to them. We're a non-profit operation with a small brick & mortar store and an even smaller online store so it seemed like a good fit for us!Switched From

It came down to price at the end of the day. Also, I believe that the CFO was under the impression that Shopify could work with Weighted Average Cost -- we might have gone with something else if she'd known that it does not!- Industry: Retail

Shopify is an easy, but expensive option.
Shopify was easy to setup and integrate. However, their fee structure was cost prohibitive for the type of print on demand business I was starting.
Pros
Shopify integrates well with other platforms like Etsy for seamless integration of print on demand products.
Cons
Shopify had an expensive fee model that made it one of the more expensive options.

Shopify POS is the clear choice for businesses who use Shopify
Overall we love Shopify POS, but we feel we are being held at ransom to pay higher prices for their hardware. If you want the seamless integration, you will pay their over the top prices for POS hardware.
Pros
The ease of use of Shopify is my favorite thing about Shopify POS. Integration to our online store is seamless and makes inventory management a breeze. There are a lot of features we use as well such as discount application, and accepting multiple forms of payment that we find especially useful.
Cons
The price of Shopify and hardware cost leave something to be desired. They are much higher priced compared to other POS companies.

Superior analytics
The analytics are quite superior to any other industry specific tool available to us.
Pros
The UI and how easy it is to use. Specifically, I like how simple it is to being able look up products.
Cons
Adding an existing customer to an order.
