Great for casual users, power users, and developers
25+ years as power use and Word developer
Pros
Unparalleled range of features and extensibility.
Cons
The document object model does have a concept of pagination, making it hard to write code to say "go to page three and include this content." I realize that this is something that would only annoy developers and not a typical user.

A Reliable Tool
Overall, my experience with Microsoft Word has been positive. Its user-friendly interface and powerful formatting tools make document creation straightforward and efficient.
Pros
Microsoft Word is loved for its user-friendly interface and versatile formatting tools, making document creation a breeze. Additionally, its collaboration features and seamless integration with other Microsoft products enhance productivity and teamwork.
Cons
Some users find Microsoft Word’s extensive features can be overwhelming, especially for those who only need basic functionality. Additionally, occasional compatibility issues with non-Microsoft formats and the subscription cost for premium features can be drawbacks.

Word: An Industry Pillar
Pleasant, easy, and very often. I use word to convert pdfs, to write knowledge base articles, to provide the formatting I will use to draft emails. There isn't a part of my professional life that word is not touching.
Pros
If there's anything to take from Microsoft Word, it's remembering that it is the industry giant. In compatibility, usability, and reliability you won't find another product that even breaches the tip of the iceberg that Microsoft word does. There is little to say about word that isn't positive. It's cloud features, built in, are robust and reliable.
Cons
There is an awareness, because of our digital age, that you need to have on macros. Word, like the other office products, may be at risk- putting you at risk. Be mindful. It isn't that word is inherently unsafe or dangerous, no more than your email is because a phishing link is clicked.

Top Notch Tools and Templates Create Endless Possibilities
I have used Microsoft Word in my day to day to journal, plan vacations, mark up my scripts (I am a professional voice actor), and create high quality written media with use of many of the tools provided in the program to ensure that what I am submitting is always top notch.
Pros
I love Microsoft Word's multitude of templates and tools that help me create anything from a business itinerary to a book report.
Cons
I would like it if my Microsoft Word license worked across all of my devices instead of only one for no additional fees.

Microsoft Word - A Timeless & Reliable Word Processor
My experience with Microsoft Word could be summed up just as well as many other users' experiences. It gets the job done and I haven't personally experienced any bugs or inconveniences with the writing processor.
Pros
Microsoft Word continues to be a timeless and reliable writing processor. To this day, it continually receives updates to keep it current. There are some features on Microsoft Word that competitors don't, such a certain small formatting features. While not necessarily a dealbreaker, it's a convenience when those formatting features are needed.
Cons
My primary gripe with Microsoft Word is that Microsoft now charges a subscription license to use its suite of applications. For this reason, I primarily use Google Docs for my business and digital marketing job, but still use Microsoft Word when needed. I thankfully still have free access to Microsoft Word under my university email.

Google DocsReasons for Switching to Microsoft Word
While I use both word processors, I primarily have Microsoft Word for certain documents that I receive from the CEO for my digital marketing job. She generally uses Microsoft's suite of applications, and I generally open these documents with the same applications in order to ensure consistent formatting and functionality.- Industry: Information Technology & Services

It works but is awkward in formatting
I started using it by default. WordPerfect was better but Word was universal and all secretaries came in knowing only word, so we eventually switched
Pros
it works and it is in virtual universal use
Cons
some features are awkward to use- some formatting commands just mess things up.

Word Review
The overall experience has been great. It is a enhanced easy to use platform
Pros
What I like the most about Word is it is designed very nicely and is easy to use. I also like the thesaurus option it has, Google Docs does not have that
Cons
I don't like that it does not autocorrect and fill in commonly misspelled words. You have to click every word you misspelled and hit the suggestion or the right word.

Word Up.....fast
This is the complete word processing application that always works smoothly. The overall cost of the software is a little higher than i think should be asked but all in all it is well worth every penny when you save time and headache in the long run.
Pros
Microsoft Word is an all in one, easy to use, professional and feature rich word processing application that never lets me down and gets the job done quickly and beautifully.
Cons
I dont like the selection of fonts provided by microsoft. I had to download some of my own and added them manually.

There's a reason this one survived
I've used (and taught people to use) word processing programs for more than 30 years (anyone remember Word 6?), and produced everything from web pages to book-length documents using it. Over the years it has become a reliable and multi-featured product, but the "look and feel" are stable.
Pros
While there are still good and popular options out there (Sheets and Google Docs), for education purposes Word is the standard: it's compatible with LMS systems, stable, has lots of features, and is convertable between applications and formats.
Cons
Maybe a few too many features? I'm not a fan of its aggressive automation either, although I do still appreciate spell check. The real concern is cost, which is helping shift education systems to Google options.

Microsoft Word: A Perspective on Collaboration and Ease of Use
Overall, Microsoft Word is my preferred word-processing platform and has expedited my ability to collaborate with teammates, especially in governance-related matters.
Pros
I like the revised features of Microsoft Word and its ability to be my central word-processing platform. The inclusion of Microsoft Word in the Office 365 space, adds a layer of collaboration and automation.
Cons
There are times when Microsoft Word can be a bit buggy. For me, this traditionally occurs when formatting documents into a Word file. Using the paragraph feature can sometimes mitigate this, but there are times when you have to do additional troubleshooting which can be a time grab.

Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word is pretty solid overall. It’s basically the go-to for writing anything—essays, reports, resumes, you name it. The layout is super clean and easy to navigate, so you can start typing without much hassle. Plus, it has a ton of formatting options, which is awesome when you want your stuff to look polished. Word can get slow and laggy with big documents, and the price can be a turn-off if you don’t already have Microsoft 365. There are free alternatives like Google Docs, but Word definitely has more features if you need them.
Pros
Microsoft Word is seriously one of the best tools for writing out there. It’s super easy to use. The layout is clean, and everything you need is right in front of you. If there's something you can't find, there is bound to be a tutorial online about it.
You can customize everything—fonts, styles, colors, whatever you need. Templates are a lifesaver when you don’t feel like starting from scratch, especially for resumes or reports.
You can share docs with others and work on them at the same time, perfect for group projects. You can also add comments and track changes easily, so everyone stays on the same page.
Linked to OneDrive, it backs up your work automatically, so you don’t have to worry about losing anything. Word is solid, whether you’re writing an essay, working on a group project, or putting together something professional.
Cons
It's not perfect. It can be kinda slow, especially if you’re working with a big document. Sometimes it lags or freezes, which is super annoying when you're trying to get stuff done quickly.

The gold standard for word processing
It's a sturdy work horse that I've used for literally decades now and will continue to as it's the defacto standard worldwide.
Pros
Microsoft Word is still the gold standard for word processing, simple to use, can do virtually anything you need it to do and is universally accepted everywhere.
Cons
Formatting and adjusting media into documents is still it's weak spot and always has been, it's improved over the years but still not what I think most people would expect.

Top notch word processor for creating and editing professional documents.
Microsoft Word is a valuable word processor I use daily to accomplish work tasks. I don't feel you can find a better product that creates high-quality documents, and the ease of saving and sharing documents is a huge positive. Creating and editing work is quick and easy with Microsoft Word!
Pros
Microsoft Word makes creating professional Word documents easy. The editor tool ensures documents have no mistakes. The dictation button is an incredible time saver and the amount of tools available allows you to create just about any kind of document you could need.
Cons
It takes time to learn how to use all the tools available in the software. You must have some knowledge of computers to effectively use Microsoft Word and documents created in Word sometimes encounter formatting problems when opened in other software.

RELIABLE AND DEPENDABLE
Pros
What I like most about Microsoft Word is that, it is easy to navigate. I was a beginner when I first used this and I got the hang of it quickly. I mainly use it for making documents like my resume. I also used this during my college days. Now, that I'm a business owner, I use this to format invoices and other memos.
Cons
What I like least about Microsoft Word is that, they only released Microsoft online too late. It could have been a great help when I was in college because I could have had opened my documents even without a flashdrive since it stores files on the cloud.

Microsoft Word and Track Changes
I am a daily user of Microsoft Word and am generally quite happy. I just have a hard time adjusting to updates and knowing how to update certain formatting issues.
Pros
Excellent word processing program that I use in my editing and writing business. I use Track Changes and it has been invaluable to making changes and recommendations in documents.
Cons
Regular updates. It is hard to follow all of the changes. Every couple of years the way Track Changes appears changes and it is frustrating. I spend time trying to change settings back and half the time I can't figure it out. Since Track Changes is essential to my work, it is hard when there is a change to it.

Will never use anything else
Overall, I would never use anything else. Beside all the different documents you can create with Word, I really like the integration with One Drive so I can access my documents anywhere. Using Word is so easy and useful in my personal and professional life.
Pros
I enjoy using Microsoft Word because of the all the different documents that you can create. Letters, resumes, essays, newsletters, cards, etc. The list goes on and on.
Cons
I have a love/hate relationship with the autosave feature. Sometimes I am so thankful and then when I open a document to use as a template and make changes, it autosaves when I should have saved a copy first. Overall, that is a user error and not a Microsoft issue.

Why use Microsoft Word
You will not want to look anywhere else once you have used Word. Everyone uses Word and if you send documents via email you will most likely find it harder for others to view if you are not using Word.
To put it simply, it's the best in class.
Pros
Microsoft Word is the only word processing software you will need. It's easy to use and it gives you tones of options and templates to use.
You can input pictures and tables. It makes your work processing easy and professional.
Cons
I do not have anything bad to say about Word. It is the best in it's class.
