Finding a flexible system that can grow with your organisation
We use IMIS as the central plank to our Charity operation, over 2-3 years helping us to double our size and build a membership base of over 100,000. ROI 6-12 months.
Pros
IMIS is a great Association Management system with strong inbuilt functionality, designed to do what it says on the tin.. the system has high levels of Integration, acting like a Lego base enabling you to plug in almost any 3rd party systems.
Cons
Some of the functionality in the older V17 is clunky, but the new EMS online offer is much cleaner and offers the best in class solution.

iMIS Questionnaire
It wasn't the best before we went live with iMIS EMS. We always had multiple issues and unresolved support tickets and told that the 'issues' we were having would be resolved when we went live with EMS, but it didn't. The issues were eventually addresses and resolved, but it took several months to address one of our tickets. Support has been better over the last few months though.
Pros
The event platform is fairly easy to use and navigate.
Cons
The IQA platform. In my opinion, it's not user friendly, and it's difficult to navigate if you're a beginner learner.

Exceptional software for associations
I've worked with iMIS for 3 years now. I recommend the certification programs as a great way to gain an overall understanding of the system.
Pros
iMIS is an incredibly flexible solution for any association. Supported by a passionate team and partners, you really can't go wrong implementing iMIS.
Cons
There is a little bit of learning required to get started. Once you get the basics it all begins to make sense. Documentation and support are first rate, so you won't have any trouble.

Former leader in the field, past its prime.
Most of my experience has been moving clients off of iMIS onto more modern cloud based platforms. If you have it, that is great, but they are still not ready to be considered a cloud based solution as of 2020.
Pros
iMIS had just about any future you need, and if it doesn't have it, there is a vendor that has built an interface to provide the functionality you need.
Cons
Configuring and using the product can be a pain. Everything goes through a reseller, creating a layer between the customer and supplier. This added layer increases markup, and also encourages consulting expenses by the retailer. Old model that does not work for the non profit industry.

iMIS pros and cons
I have been using iMIS for over a decade. We are currently migrating to their Cloud Platform (called EMS), The desktop version was installed before I started with the association, and many aspects of how it was initially configured were questionable, and, in some instances, very difficult to correct. We have great expectations for the EMS version. An example; products that we sell in our store currently are all pinned to one shipping method. The EMS version allows for that to be handled on a product by product basis, which is a major improvement as we have been in the position of having to reimburse shipping costs for items that are digitally delivered. All that is changing - for which we are grateful.
Pros
iMIS is a very powerful, flexible and well-engineered AMS. It meets all our AMS needs very effectively. It is a great tool for tracking individual and company membersehips.
Cons
It is very expensive. As a small association that works with very tight budgets iMIS is a large portion of our annual budget.
Reasons for Switching to iMIS
iMIS has all the features we need, and was less expensive than Salesforce. Keep in mind, we were an existing iMIS customer, and the upgrade path for us was a more likely path toward successfully implementing in a reasonable timeframe.- Industry: Education Management

Recommending the use of iMIS for Non-profits
Overall, iMIS has been a great experience that has allowed us to more efficiently provide Member Benefits and manage operations and member engagement.
Pros
Full functionality, use of support documentation, tracking member engagement, ease of registration and payments for members and staff
Cons
Often the documentation is written from the perspective of those who are too familiar with the system or it does not catch up to real-time changes to the system.

Robust EMS that is still manageable even for small-staff associations.
Our experience with iMIS has always been very positive. iMIS staff are very responsive when we reach out, and proactively contact us periodically to make sure we are doing well and don't have any questions. We also love our iMIS partner, ATS.
Pros
I love being in the cloud and never having to plan for an upgrade again!! We are always on the most current version of the software and we couldn't be happier!
Cons
We're pretty satisfied with this product and haven't found a competitor that can better handle our needs, regardless of price point, so we're very satisfied customers.

Fully Featured Association Management Software with Many Third-Party Add-Ons
Pros
iMIS can facilitate nearly any solution you may need as a non-profit association. It provides the most common tools out of the box, while more uncommon solutions are available from trusted partners that offer easy integration.
Cons
Written documentation of the software is robust for casual users, but I have found that documentation for more technical tasks is often lacking.

Comprehensive, scale-able and a long term solution to member management
Our member engagement, association website and accounting system is all tied together to provide nearly seamless integration of business operations.
Pros
iMIS is build to meet the needs of changing technology. When new technologies come along you don't have to start all over again. There is a large body of third party providers to tie into any additional systems you need and they have an outstanding "independent" user group that is extremely helpful.
Cons
Learning the reporting system can be time consuming at first but as you get familiar with it that too is a very powerful system that lets you get whatever information out of your system that you need.

iMIS
We are a regulatory body and our main business is collecting fees from both registrants and pharmacies and as we update we find that we due to the above customization we have to have both desktop version (billing purposes) and staffview for everything else
Pros
It is easy to use and very user friendly. Meets all the current requirements for our company
Cons
When we first got iMIS we had alot of customization which as we upgrade does create some problems

iMIS Review
We are in a long financial relationship with iMIS and have no way to simply get out but it does what we need with a bit of help from ISG.
Pros
This is a very tough question for me for several reasons. One is that I have no experience with any other product. Two is that at one point when E-Series failed to live up to expectations we brought in ISGWeb to do many of the functions that I like the most. Three we have not transitioned to rISE yet.
Cons
The cost, now I do not know how much other software is in relation to what we get for our money but It seems pretty expensive to do anything and the license fees are high.

Okay, But Could Be Better!
I have been using iMIS at work for many years, and I find it is a decent software that has most of the features and functionalities that are required for a Not-for-profit Association. However, I am always hoping to see new improvements on the features and functionalities.
Pros
It has a desktop (offline) version as well as a browser (online) version so that I can access wherever I go.
Cons
It is not smart enough to perform the duties that I wish it would do. A lot of the features and functionalities need to be paid for in order to receive the additional upgrades.

Colleen's review
I solve information need from our database regarding membership for almost every department within our company. If there is not a way for me to do it myself TS Team assists me.
Pros
It gives you the output you want most times in reports. If you can't get what you need the TS Team helps you get what you need.
Cons
The ASI portion of what is written, old archaic, a staple in the design can cause some reporting to look and act obsolete.

So far it's okay. the User Credentials tab is not working and it is a lot of work around.
Pros
The front end user have option either on the desktop or the web. I enjoy working with the extra tables and looking forward to start reporting in MS SSRS service.
Cons
New User Credentials tab for the login security, we are having to many issues with it and the can no one help use. The logon does not change if the email is updated in the profile. It is very messy.
