Great - but don’t upgrade
Works great, won’t upgrade because of new license policy
Pros
Seems very reliable. Have been using it for a couple of years now.
Cons
New license policy. This makes you not own you software any longer.
Response from Paramount Software
We have also introduced an LTSC license for customers who purchase regularly or in volume. This offers a one-time purchase license, stable product version with critical security updates, a choice of 3 or 5 year support.

No support for free trial
If you offer a “Free Trial” to entice a potential buyer to purchase your product, it would be prudent to offer support if the potential buyer has a problem. It’s like a car dealer offering a test drive of a new car, but ignoring you if the car breaks down.
I will not be buying the software, and I’ll post negative reviews for a less than satisfactory experience.
Pros
It was easy to setup and set up an image backup
Cons
I couldn’t get restore to work. When I requested assistance they responded that there was no support for the free trial and directed me to their knowledge base. I couldn’t find a resolution to my problem there.
Response from Paramount Software
Larry,
I'm really disappointed that you got this response. We all know that 100% of people who can't get a trial to work don't buy the product, so we *do* support free trials and I'd encourage anyone who is told otherwise to contact us. NB: To be clear, we don't support users of our former free product, which has been discontinued - a free trial is supported.

Nice lean product
It does the things that it supposed to do. A nice lean product with no additional (useless) "stuff". Just a product that does what it is bought for to do.
Pros
That we can buy a perpetual license, was the prime reason. The units we work with are after shipment off-line, so a annual subscription is not possible. In the past we used Acronis, as they went to a subscription version, we selected your product. (so please keep this feature, otherwise we need to look for something different )
Cons
None, it works fine. I never had an issue with your product.
Response from Paramount Software
Hi Bertin,
I just want to draw your attention to our LTSC licences for regular purchases or large volumes, which provide a one-time purchase/perpetual license, a stable version of Macrium Reflect (v8.1) with a focus on critical security updates only, and a choice of 3 or 5 years of support. The LTSC license can also be offline activated and allows the machine to never need to go online - from activation to backup. Contact us if you would like to learn more.

Macrium Reflect: Excellent for Music Professionals
Marcum Reflect always works when I create a backup image of over 3 Terabytes of my music studio laptop for my business. Macrium Reflect X is able to do this in a little over 1 hour to my external SSD. This can be done even quicker using faster drives. Macrium Reflect gives me the peace of mind I need in case my Laptop ever ceases to function. I can rely on the fact that I can always restore my image to different to a different machine using the bare metal restore feature. This saves a ton of time having to reinstall over 3 Terabytes of music creation software & sounds, as well as having to reconfiguring everything. With Reflect I can rest assured I will always be able to re-open project files as the system will remain exactly the same if restore is ever necessary. Reflect is probable the most important software that I use to ensure my business will always remain in operation as long as I have my data in-tact. I recommend Reflect to anyone that needs their data safe.
Pros
It includes a bare metal restore image feature.
Cons
The UI design, but I understand the minimal approach for better performance.

Macrium Reflect - don't leave home - or stay home - without it!
I've just returned from a holiday, and I remember that just before I left I heard of a new version of Macrium. I'll be looking into it over the next couple of days. I haven't read the specs so I don't know what changes were made, but I'll probably switch to the new version even if it's only available as a subscription product. I wouldn't want to be without the backups that Macrium Reflect provides.
Pros
I have rarely had a problem retrieving stuff from backups. I do a full backup of my Windows C drive once a week onto an external drive, and differential backups daily. I keep three full backups. The main backups are 300Gb and more. Now and again, when something goes wrong and I need to retrieve a file from the backup, it's a simple process that takes very little time.
Cons
I don't have anything bad to say about Macrium Reflect. It just works! That's really all there is to say about it.

Once great, but since the buyout...
Once great, and I would automatically renew my subscription without consideration.
Now I won't recommend it to anyone and, in fact, recommend they look elsewhere. Reason? It is now on suscription only, so no paying once and knowing you're safe. Now, if you hit hard times your backup strategy is toast.
Pros
Works very well indeed, and previous support has been prompt and good. I've restored backups, both when disks have been replaced, and to recover fat-fingered accidents, and usually it is pain-free (once I couldn't restore a backup on a network drive to a virgin PC, but that got resolve).
I used to recommend Reflect to friends and clients (especially clients!) as an essential tool that should be on the PC from the start.
Cons
It can fail to complete a backup if a disk has read errors. That's kind of understandable because you don't want to have what you think is a backup but is just random noise on some disk sectors, but it is useful to be able to complete the backup anyway and know some of it might be flaky - better to have some data than none at all, and typically in this case you might be trying to save a drive that is failing. However, I think this has been resolved in more recent versions (haven't had to try it since - drives either work or not nowadays and rarely warn of impending disaster).

Picks you up when your PC lets you down
I've been using Macrium Reflect for maybe 8 years now. It's pretty easy to set up and use. Single user price is reasonable, annual support is reasonable, and from time to time, it saves my bacon.
Pros
Ability to backup complete system image (which allows me to restore those pesky registry settings with no hassle)
Cons
I have to compute how many full, differential and incremental backups I can maintain on my external drive based on their average size. Before I started doing that, I would get errors upon failing to backup and not understand from the error message that it wasn't just deleting the oldest image to make room.
Response from Paramount Software
Hi Rayna,
I would encourage you to contact our Support team with as much context as you can, they're here to help you get the most out of Reflect X and can provide advice and guidance on how best to set up Reflect to ensure you don't run out of space.

the most expensive disk backup solution in the entire industry
brief, great program, great functionality, etc but when i saw the price i realized we would never be purchasing more than 1 copy
Pros
absurdly expensive, cheaper to simply replace the entire workstation than purchase yearly subscriptions
Cons
the price is absurd, imagine paying hundreds of dollars a year to back up EACH workstation, all of which are becoming less valuable each year
within three years, ive paid more for backups than the machine itself
Response from Paramount Software
Thanks for the feedback. Our workstation licences are available at $65 per device, but less if you're buying in bulk. Acronis Cyber Protect starts at $85, before you've bought any additional storage. As you can imagine, we benchmark against competitors regularly. Please feel free to contact me, but it seems you may have purchased something more expensive if you're paying hundreds of dollars for each workstation. We can organise a refund and/or credit.

Macrium Reflect software is wonderful!
Reflect Workstation has been very easy to use and demonstrated its potential when we had to recover our system (all hard drives and partitions) completely. Macrium has proven to be a partner we can trust!
Pros
The ease of installation, setup, operation (manual and scheduled backups), and backup/restoration. Since operating backup software is not something most people do every day, the straightforwardness of the Reflect software makes life easier!
Cons
The two least-favorite aspects of the software include the backup time (though Reflect X improves the speed of the backup process) and authorizing licenses on machines without network connectivity.

Good review
Customer service is a bit slow, it takes a while for support messages to be answered, but everything is fine, eventually we manage to find the job.
Pros
The most important thing is that you can make backups on computers that are not connected to the external Internet (offline). This is very helpful in organizations.
Cons
That it is not possible to reset licenses in Site Manager and transfer them to another computer

My review of X
I've used it for years. Haven't needed to actually use it, but in terms of backing up the computer, it's fine. Don't know what makes this version better than 8. Just wish it was faster
Pros
Works fine every night and Friday day. No glitches
Cons
Was supposed to be twice as fast. It isn't. Still takes 5 hours to back up my computer in full mode.
Response from Paramount Software

Just buy it, you can thank me later
It has been great. Each year I get a new machine, and I'm able to migrate everything on my current machine to my new one, it has worked great for five or six years now.
Pros
Besides the software working great, the support (both company and community) are terrific and the year of updates is very reasonably priced. The "fix boot issues" and "redeploy" (to new hardware) are amazing.
Cons
Maybe a little bit more of a learning curve, but mostly due to extra features (vs. the competition).

Popular backup and disk imaging software for Windows-based systems
Only positive emotions! The system has never let me down and I have never had any compatibility issues with this software
Pros
Fast imaging with ease of use. It provides options for creating bootable rescue media (USB or DVD) that can be used to restore your system in case it becomes unbootable.
Cons
At the end of 2023, support for the free version of Macrium Reflect will end. It's a shame because it was one of the best solutions for home users!

Best Backup Software
Pros
The application is free for personal use! Offers imaging and backups for disks with ease. There is also the ability to clone your disk
Cons
One issue i've encountered is when cloning the drive letter does not reflect that of the host system. Not sure if its unique to this application, or a flaw in the cloning process

Macrium Reflect - small enterprise
I have purchased several licenses for Macrium Reflect Workstation, one for my personal use and two more for our organization. I have had excellent success with Macrium Reflect and would very much recommend this application.
Pros
Macrium Reflect has proven to be an extremely cost effective means for creating and managing computer system images. The ability to quickly download a stored image to a system or to a blank hard drive or solid state drive has reduced the turn around time for reimaging computers to no more than the amount of time it takes to swap out the hard drive. We do keep spare, fully imaged drives on the shelf for each of the models of computer that we have in the enterprise. Once an image has been created and stored on our image server, we can image a 500GB SSD in less than 3 minutes. Traditional hard disk drives can be imaged in about 12 minutes.
The application is extremely easy to use and the interface is intuitive enough for novice users.
Cons
I would like for the business and workstation versions to be able to image multiple drives simultaneously. This feature appears to be available only with the Deployment Kit, which has a price of $3250 per license.

Very reliable
Cloning is pretty fast in my opinion but that always depends on the quantity of data and the health of the drive that you're cloning from. I have tried other software but have always come back to MR.
Pros
I've been using MR for years now and I've never had any issues with it. For me personally the free version of the software suits my needs. I only use it for cloning of HDD and SSD's.
Cons
The user interface is a little lacking in my opinion compared with say EaseUs Partition Master which is much easier to navigate. It's just something you have to become familiar with through use.

This is NOT really a consumer, home user product
Never once successfully restored a bootable Windows 10 disk image, and I'm tired of spending hours and hours and hours trying to figure out why. But it's obvious from the support forums that I simply don't know NEARLY enough (and I've been using computers of every kind since the 1970s) to even ask a useful question.
Pros
Apparently, IT professionals and computer geeks get a LOT of use out of this app. But as a home PC user, I have found that if you aren't a Windows EXPERT, it's easier to just reinstall Windows and reinstall your software, and just back up your files on an external drive of some kind. I have never actually been able to successfully restore a bootable backup of my PC. The days and days of researching the technical details I don't know anything about just to ask a support question simply aren't worth it.
Cons
It is NOT "user" friendly. The tech support is really for IT pros. If you're not an EXPERT (and I know quite a bit) on Windows, BIOS, etc, then this is probably not the app for you.

Macrium Reflect Home User Review
My overall experience has been very positive, as the backup tool is easy to use and intuitive, and provides peace of mind. The cloning feature needs work, especially when dealing with boot / recovery partitions specifically, but otherwise for a free program Macrium Reflect is fantastic.
Pros
The most useful feature of this software is without question its cloning / backup ability. I've used it over 4 times to clone HDD's to SSD's- to keep from having to transfer everything manually and reinstall Windows. I've also used it to keep backups, which it has a genius way of doing. You choose the folders you want to back up, and the program will compress all of them into a single file which can be moved as you want. When you want to extract your files from the backup, you open the file and Macrium will mount it as removable storage, allowing you to move individual items as if it were a flash drive.
Cons
Sometimes, the software will not correctly clone the boot partitions correctly, leading to a failure of Windows to boot after cloning a hard drive to an SSD. It is easy to fix, but still annoying.
