Perfect fit for the job
Having used JAlbum for several years it has "just worked" most of the time. On a couple of occasions I've had to contact support and the response has been rapid and resolved the problem. Great Support.
Pros
I love the ease of use, the wide selection of skins which have multiple configuration settings, and great functional albums produce get websites.
Cons
As a Linux user it has great support but I would like a ready built package for Arch/Manjaro like they have for Ubuntu, SUSE, Redhat etc.
Response from jAlbum
Thanks for your kind review Andy, also for pointing out a room for improvement: -a package for Arch/Manjaro

Jalbum makes showing prhotographic work very fast with excellent results
I have used Jalbum for over 10 years with excellent results. The oldest albums still present well on web.
Pros
Presentation on Web.. many options SPEED to put group of photos up with professional look.
Cons
Finding where options are: main Jalbum and then Skins
Response from jAlbum
Thanks for your review Terry! May we suggest that you try CTRL+Space within jAlbum. Then you can type whatever feature you're looking for and jAlbum will guide you to it, no matter if it's a jAlbum or skin feature.

Used for 4 years (2014-18), returned 2022 and the quality sank massively
I used to enjoy jalbum. I used it for school and for work for four years. When I left my school, I stopped using the site. I’d had tens of albums of old photos, all formatted and edited and whatnot using their resources. I came back in 2022 out of curiosity and a desire to edit and organize many of my photos. Upon logging in, I was hit with nostalgia: none of the site had changed. After an attempt to navigate the site, I realize that was not a good thing. It was slow, pixelated, hard to navigate, and very dated looking. There weren’t any features not provided by free internet apps, such as superimpose (great app). There weren’t any features that were modern, innovative or ground breaking. Sometimes, rather than tweak an old, dated interface it’s better to make sweeping and elegant changes. 4 years later and nothing has been updated besides maybe a font size and a few features. (I’ve been prompted about six times to write this review. I ignored it and again, but hopefully this will get you to stop requesting reviews.)
Pros
I used to enjoy the format and the ease of uploading photos that were viewable and shareable by teammates.
Cons
Service cons: jalbum used to work well. 4 years have passed though, and my renewal left me feeling cheape-d out on. The photo quality has dropped, the capacity is low, the app and interface have not improved, the site/app is slow and outdated. The technological advances possible have not been made here. Customer service cons: this is obviously not the most integral part of the app, but if you ever want to get money back or hash out complaints, it will be an uphill battle. Customer service was harsh and rude to me. I expressed me dismay at the new app, and one of the customer service reps verbally accosted me through repeated emails demanding that the status of his site was good. It’s not. Overall, that ended my relationship with jalbum and left a horrible taste in my mouth from a once great app.

We're sorry that you're so dissatisfied with jAlbum Kenza. Your criticism seems to be directed to our lite "Online jAlbum" product and not to our desktop product, which is where we've put the vast majority of our development focus. Do try out our desktop product instead!

Excellent web gallery software
I have been using jAlbum to create my web galleries for more than 10 years and have been satisfied with it since I began using it. I have seen galleries created by other photographers believe there is no reason to consider moving to another piece of software. jAlbum does what I want it to do and does it well.
Pros
I have been using jAlbum for over 10 years and found it useful and easy to use from the start. The various skins allow the creation of galleries from relatively simple to complex, including the use of a shopping cart with some. The interface is relatively intuitive and the gallery outcomes are pleasing and professional looking. The application is updated on timely basis and keeps pace with advances in technology.
Cons
The plethora of options available in Preferences for some of the more complex skins can be somewhat overwhelming for the first time user, but many can be left as default until the user becomes more familiar with how those options can be used to enhance the gallery.
Response from jAlbum
Thanks for your elaborate and balanced review of jAlbum Paul! We agree that some skins have so many settings that it can be daunting or hard to navigate. Luckily the defaults works for most people, and should you need to look for a certain setting, then you can search for it within jAlbum using jAlbum's Search Bar. It will guide you to the right setting in a snap.

A *LOT* of bang for the buck.
I maintain a photo blog of my work and personal projects to share with potential clients and family/friends. The old software I was using made updates very time consuming and required a full upload of all the content with each update, not to mention the time to rebuild the entire album every time. jAlbum makes creation and updates so easy, I'm updating my albums almost nightly. Add the new photos, caption them, click the Build And Upload button and it's done. What used to take me hours, now takes just a few minutes.
Pros
The options for image handling and creating/modifying the structure of the albums are quite extensive and the entire look and feel of your project can be altered with a few simple mouse clicks. Embedded image manipulation controls are a nice feature and the smart build/upload is a huge time saver. The Developer and Community support has been top notch as well!
Cons
The learning curve was a bit steep initially, but there are a lot of features and terms *I* wasn't necessarily familiar with so it was a bit of a struggle to figure things out.
Response from jAlbum
Wow! Many thanks for taking the time to write this elaborate review of jAlbum Kevin!
