Manageable software but unsatisfactory
Overall, it's a tricky software to use and can cause confusion and more problems than its worth. Wouldn't recommend.
Pros
I cannot say that this is my favorite software by a long shot but I will note some of the benefits of using Audience View in previous positions:
-It will not delete any account unless a bunch of prompts are answered so the likelihood of losing a patron's transaction history and account information is very minimal.
-Seat maps do allow you to move patrons seating in a somewhat concise manner.
-Accounts do allow for birthday reminders/anniversaries, etc.
Cons
The downsides of Audience View are unfortunately longer with the following being:
- It's a really counter-intuitive system that is both cumbersome and can be a problem in not processing transactions.
- While it doesn't delete accounts easily, it is very temperamental when trying to find an existing patron. This causes for duplicate accounts to be made and serious confusion for patrons and administrators.
- Access to gift certificates, reprinting tickets and anything outside of the minimal transaction process is so difficult. It becomes an elongated process and is more annoying than helpful.

Top-of-the-line Ticketing Software
I've had the benefit of working with this software at two organizations in different locals; this is by far the most flexible and powerful ticketing system I have seen thus far! The versatility offered by the AudienceView platform makes it good solution for Arts, Athletics, and Academic ticketing needs, as well as more complex ticketing events such as large-scale concerts, commencement ceremonies, and even film festivals. The built-in correspondence tool is a strong component of the product offering and is something my organization has come to rely on. It has allowed us to develop a more frequent, targeted relationship with our customers through-out the ticketing experience. It also works in unison with the membership tool, which can be configured to handle our subscriptions, memberships, ticket passes/packages, and more. Once our guests have enjoyed the event we're presenting, the software has a diverse set of reporting tools that can isolate and refine our data - the sky is the limit. One last important tool to note is the online content management tool. We operate multiple white-label branded websites from the system with ease.
I will say that, due to the strength of the product and diverse set of tools offered, training for use (on all levels) may need to be emphasized initially; however, once you and your staff have a firm grip on how to navigate the system, it becomes very intuitive to use. The best part (from an organizational standpoint) is that the platform doesn't require a engineering degree to use - the user interface is very friendly.
AudienceView has a strong commitment to their clients and is constantly pushing the envelop on what the their platform can do. While I'm excited to be working with this platform day-to-day, the continual flow of improved/new functionality being implemented always keeps me moving forward. Can't recommend enough!

Do not reccomend
I completely understand the need to hold additional funds to cover potential refunds. However, your system should be more than capable of paying out events that clearly occurred. You are asking for "proof" of the events in paperwork that is held on your own system. This decision heavily implies that you do not have the funds available to payout all events as they occurred. This is a huge red flag to anyone using your systems, and until we receive funds for our events I would never recommend Audience View or any of its subsidiaries.
Pros
After review many different ticketing companies we signed up with Vendini when our theater opened in 2019. There were better deals out there, but Vendini appeared to have a decent interface and pretty extensive reporting options. They also gave us a lot of free equipment to get started. Vendini was recently obtained by Audience View.
Cons
It turned out that the interface for the box office application was actually outdated. While there are many reporting options, it is clearly not intended to help you reconcile penny for penny where funds are going to. I am most disgusted by the recent requirement from Audience View that all organizations must submit a "settlement request form" to receive their funds. According to them, due to Covid, they have decided to suspend all outgoing payments from events until they can personally review the status of each case. This includes events that took place well before the outbreak and are simply waiting on their reserve payout (5% after 90 days). We are being required to submit this form weekly until it can be determined they are legitimate payouts.

Highly customizable software meets the needs of our unique organization.
AudienceView has allowed our Off-Broadway theater and subsidiary ticketing company to customize a one-of-a-kind CRM system. Due to the unique structure of our business, we have worked closely with the team at AudienceView to harness the product to great success. The flexibility of the application along with the integrated email marketing tool are just a sample of the strengths that this product has to offer. Our organization highly values the amount of data that can be collected and stored on our customers. This allows us to research and target specific segments without leaving the application.
AudienceView values their customers and are open to feedback from their users. They have created and continue to foster an online community for support as well as user to user communication. This has been an invaluable asset to our organization. I would recommend this production to organizations of all sizes.

AudienceView meets the needs of our university
AudienceView is a great platform that meets the needs of our university.
The pros:
We provide ticketing for all events on campus and AV gives us the flexibility to tailor our website and programming to give the client/department the look and feel they are looking for.
The support staff is very helpful and attentive.
The business reporting is very thorough allows us to report on just about everything.
Access control/scanning works well.
The correspondence/e-mail marketing function is very helpful and allows us to communicate and market to our potential audience.
Cons:
I wish we could integrate with our campus ID system and allow a student ID to function as their ticket for some events. Hopefully that functionality will be possible at some point.

O.K tool for event management
Overall, OK experience. I feel like there are a lot of manual processes that need to happen due to the fact that there is no native ESP.
Pros
We recently switched to Audience View from Vendini since the acquisition, and I must say it has a much better dashboard and easier way to manage tickets than Vendini!
Cons
There is no native email marketing function like Vendini had. You have to get an external ESP in order to send an email.

Terrible Support Team
Terrible.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
You can call till you are blue in the face, no one will answer the phone unless you leave multiple messages. You can email, they won't respond. I was told flat out they turn the phones off during business hours. How professional of them

To many steps to get one thing done
Pros
I like how it is all online. I am able to access it anywhere and fix something.
Cons
You have to go through so many steps to get one thing done. We use this to sell tickets for our patrons and when I want to set them up with tickets, I have to go through 10 different steps to get to the person. Then when you get the show selected, need to make sure you always click the "update" button or it messes the whole order up. Just needs to simplify some of the steps to get the process done smoother

AV is very user friendly, easy to learn, and a powerful resource to assist your organization.
AudienceView has been an extremely powerful tool for us. While our main goal is to sell tickets, we are also able to sell merchandise, accept donations, and integrate AV with other department's software to get accurate data transmitted each day. Not only is it beneficial to our Sales & Service office; Marketing staff can easily access sales reports and our Development officers can get a quick biography of a donor or prospect while also having the ability to view their ticket history.
AudienceView has allowed us to come up with creative solutions to offer new products, conduct event registrations and other memberships, and increased communication and efficiency within our organization.

AudienceView
My experience has been a complete nightmare.
Pros
AudienceView may have very nice features, but it is not suitable for smaller non-profits. It is strange to me that they bought out Vendini who was very well suited to smaller non-profits like mine.
Cons
AudienceView bought out Vendini, a company that really took care of small non-profits like the one that I am running and in the process not only ruined our ticketing platform, but rendered our ability to reach out to our audience nearly impossible. All efforts to export my contacts proved fruitless, and the instructions that audienceview gave me to export my contacts so that I could go elsewhere were useless. On top of that the pricing for AudienceView is completely out of reach for smaller ensembles like mine.

My favorite thing about AudienceView is how configurable it is for different types of sales.
I have been using AudienceView since 2009. I like how I can change most settings to be specific to my needs and how I can filter information for all of the users who sell within the system. It is easy to train users because i can really lock down what they can and cannot do depending on their expertise. AudienceView has also been able to accommodate new sales initiatives as they come up which helps increase revenue and respond to upper management requests.
