Softdent is very easy to use and navigate.
Good- I have been using it more often in various offices and it is very easy to use.
Pros
Softdent is a newer software to me but it has been quite easy to learn and use. I like how the schedule is easy to read, the columns can be color coordinated (dentist vs hygienist), I like that you can add a tiny little sticky note to the patient's appt incase you want to write an important note (for example: allergic to amoxicillin etc), and it is quite easy to dental chart and treatment plan a patient's decay/crowns/xrays/etc.
Cons
The format looks a little outdated, for example, it looks somewhat grainy or pixilated. Therefore, the graphics could be updated to a more modern look.

CS SoftDent Dental Software
Overall my experience with CS SoftDent has been unsatisfactory. Between the time it takes to get someone from customer support to assist you to the charging for features that are free from other dental software companies, we have decided to change our software to a cloud based one.
Pros
I appreciate how easy SoftDent is to use. Yes there is a learning curve when you first being utilizing it but overall it is simple.
Cons
The lack of included features makes CS SoftDent inferior to other dental software that I have experience with. In order to do simple customizations such as changing/customizing the medical history form, you have to pay additional fees and even then there are significant limitations. Recently our state required all medical prescribing offices to use electronic prescribing methods, in turn CS SoftDent decided to charge an exorbitant amount of money on top of our monthly fee for a service that is now required.

Be Warned and stay away!
Poor, also be warned of their false "warranty." It's not really a warranty and you have to pay several hundreds to thousands of dollars if something does happen to your sensor or equipment. The imaging is okay at best and support is non-existent and when you finally do get someone, they are the most rudest people on earth.
Pros
Hardware is good and decent. Comparative to other quality products such as Dexis sensor, Jazz sensor, etc.
Cons
Don't expect ANY customer support when you need it. Expect to wait HOURS and HOURS on hold to be told you've been transferred to the wrong department. They don't call you back. The software is also not super intuitive and requires expert help if you change any hardware or update any hardware, as stated above, you won't find help very easily. They're all onboard and helpful at the sales pitch, but don't fall for them and expect they'll help you once you dot your i's and cross those t's. Be warned!

WinOMS. Great software, NO SUPPORT
Pros
The power of the WinOMS system for a whole office EMR.
Cons
They are driving all of their customer support questions to either email or Chat. And the Chat is first with a virtual agent. And today, when it got to an agent, I was dropped before I could be helped..Three times. And I'm paying almost $1000 a month. Expect NO help unless you are willing to navigate hours of chat and redirected phone call. And if you do happen to have the courage to try calling one of their phone numbers and its the wrong number, they can't even forward you to where it should go to. And the number they give you might just play an outgoing message that repeats itself three times and then hangs up. Great software, but someone convinced them that they can direct every client to an online support system, and it's not working.
