Pros
The Social Networking technology gives an extra boost in terms of retention thanks to its push notification technology. Furthermore the product pages can be enriched by the direct storytelling of the producers and made dynamic and "alive" by the participation of the customers, who feel more engaged.
Cons
It would be very advantageous to have, among the marketing tools, an even more extensive version of email marketing analytics (eg. open-ratio, CTR, etc.) allowing us to save on the external marketing automation service costs.

Excellent experience and worth buying
Very useful both when creating and managing a new community. Very intuitive to use and totally customizable for your scope or goal. It was easy to implement and customize, the free trial allows you to test the final experience. The assistance was always punctual and precise.

Comprehensive and modular solution for any requirement
Pros
The platform, while giving a comprehensive set of out-of-the-box functionalities, has resulted very modular in allowing the integration within other ecosystems. While providing a front-end layer of their own, the solution has shown itself to be perfectly suitable for operating also as a headless platform.
Cons
Even though the platform allows for the inclusion/integration of any kind of external tool managing video content, I think that amplifying the own platform'stools of handling the upload and fruition of video content would be key for the future.

SelfCommunity enable us to grow a proprietary Brand Community
It fit very well with our overall digital strategy and enable us to apply a segmentation strategy and personalize community content and features accordingly. Onboarding was easy to roll out, team roles were quickly organized and activated. We were basically effective from day one.
Pros
Customization and ready to use Social Network based features. The platform let us to personalize every aspect of our Brand Community: from look&feel to content and user management rules, from community features to communication and promotion tools. It has also powerful audience clustering tool that helped us in shaping the structure of the Brand Community at best.
Cons
It would be useful to enable, per every single user with the Admin and Editor role, push notifications for their Posts. I know they will implement it soon.
