Perspectives from an Allied Health clinician
Access point of care support with other healthcare providers quickly and efficiently. PHIPPA-compliant (assumed). Easier than a traditional paging or vocera system.
Pros
Ease of use, accessible. Assumed to be PHIPPA-compliant but would benefit from a reminder to user on each-log-in. Easy to contact other clinicians rather than waiting and delays from a traditional paging system - thus enhancing patient care.
Cons
When on wifi, no PUSH alerts/notifications. Require user to use cellular data. Would benefit from a scheduled shut-down when not on shift if a user has set-schedule to work.
Response from Hypercare
Hi Lorraine,
Thanks for the nice comments and your genuine review of Hypercare.
Our customer success team will reach out to you to figure out why push notifications are failing to work on wifi. Push notifications should work regardless of wifi/data as long as there is the internet.
There is an ability to put yourself on Hypercare also as "unavailable" on the status with a pre-defined time which will auto-mute all notifications coming in. However, it currently does not pull that status from any other system so you will have to do that over the application.
We'll setup a time to walk you through those features.

Great way to support team based care
Hypercare is a great solution to many longstanding communication issues but can easily used with existing hardware. We still don’t have reliably private emailing or texting between organizations and systems but Hypercare solves that. During COVID we even quickly began using the scheduling and paging options with great results, thanks to the helpful and responsive Hypercare support team.
Pros
As a physician involved in multidisciplinary team based care I use this software all of the time for those quick questions that otherwise impede care. Real-time communication with team members (eg. nursing, outreach workers, LTC staff), where I can be confident that our patients’ privacy is safe, is essential. We can help patients move forward more quickly. Because Hypercare works separately from different EMRs or organizations, regardless of devices, and even can be used from a web base, it solves so many frustrating communication challenges
Cons
Hypercare is extremely easy to onboard and get off to a running start but it takes some thinking to intentionally build Hypercare into practice. It’s faster than email or fax and easier than phoning but unless you already collaborate it may not be immediately intuitive to teams because it’s a new way to work together.

Generally very good experience. I rely on it heavily, couldn’t do my job without it.
Pros
Secure quick messaging service to share confidential information with a network of people. Able to send images which broadens your reach to provide health care.
Cons
Can be glitchy. Only the administrator can remove people from chats. Sometimes these people resign and then the chat needs to be recreated.

Indispensable tool
Excellent. Has been a game changer. All my colleagues love it. I don't use it everyday, but when I do, I am reminded of how much it is has made my work easier.
Pros
Saves me time, makes connecting with specialists and colleagues much more efficient and less error prone. We have etiquette rules in place, but it is super reassuring that, when appropriate, I can reach out to physicians, whoever is on call, or any of the hospital clinical staff. In fact, much of my practice workflow depends on Hypercare.
Cons
Looking forward to more integration with my EMR. Some colleagues don't respond to my messages. Hypercare is not available in all the hospitals I work in.
